The highly anticipated clash between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 12th match of the IPL 2023 did not disappoint, as it is the El-Clasico of the IPL, the biggest rivalry of all time. There clash always became the most exciting match of the season.
CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first, with captain MS dhoni leading from the front with a terrific win in previous match. Rohit sharma and Ishan kishan came as an opening batsmen pair and especially Rohit seems to be in the good touch against Deepak Chahar. But unfortunately Deepak got an injury in its very first over, so after completing it’s first over he goes out of the field and then hadn’t come back onto the field in whole match.
So what Deepak is not there the new boy Tushar Deshpande gives a first break through by getting Rohit Sharma out in the fourth over by his good length delivery which knock the middle stump. Then we had seen some quick wickets from one of the best left off spin pair of Ravindra jadeja and M Santner as they managed to take 5 wickets combine and given just 48 runs in there eight overs, they took wickets of Ishan kishan, Cameron green, Suryakumar yadav, Tilak verma, Arshad khan. At the end of 20 overs MI finished with a total of 158/7, which seemed a bit below par given the quality of their batting lineup.

Then CSK opening batsmen pair came onto the field but Jason behrendorff strike in its very first over and managed to take wicket of Devon Conway 0(4). But now it’s the time when star of the match came onto the field. Yes I’m talking about Ajinkya Rahane as he played the brilliant knock of 61 runs in just 27 balls at a disastrous strike rate of 225.93. And then Ruturaj Gaikwad 40(36), S Dube 28(26) with A Rayudu 20(16), CSK managed to win this match very easily by 7 wickets with 11 balls remaining.
It was a fantastic match that showcased the quality of both teams.This win takes CSK to the fourth position of the IPL 2023 standings, while MI will be left to ponder what went wrong in their second defeat of the season. As they loss there two out of two match.

As a result of wonderful performance by Ravindra Jadeja in both fielding and bowling especially the catch of Cameron Green, which was totally a treat to watch. He awarded with the Man of the Match award.
